CITIZENS COME FIRST Palilula Municipality has taken all appropriate and available activities on its territory, from the moment Serbian Government declared an emergency situation, to repair the consequences of natural disasters, caused by snowfall and very low temperatures. Utility inspections has is hours on duty and, with the relevant departments and public utility companies, solve existing problems in the terrain. In the past, the realization of projects supporting vulnerable population of Palilula and cooperation with the Centre for Social Welfare, municipal employees have visited and provided assistance to over 4000 people and registered disadvantaged families. Fuel was also provided for the whole winter, three cubic meters of firewood, for 50 most vulnerable families, that was shared during the past two months. A number of citizens is taken into account and by assisting in basic foodstuffs and household chemicals. We received from the Government of the Republic of Serbia, last week 1.2 tons of food and it was distributed to the 200 most vulnerable families. We got fromthe Red Cross food aid and it was also divided into thirty families. We managed ourselves to make packages for fifty more family-emphasized Igor Novakovic. In this extraordinary situation we have provided for some 500 families fuel, food, and I think we made a step forward in helping the most socially disadvantaged population of Palilula. We provided 300 blankets for those who have problems with heating. We are satisfied that at this point Palilula Municipality is cleaned of snowfalls. Of course, people need to know that this is not only our responsibility but we managed to secure another 6.5 tons of fuel and hire emergency companies that have machinery to clean the streets of Palilula.. All the roads are passable to the villages, main roads were cleared. We neglected for the priorities the streets around the municipality building to meet the people on the ground. The entire vehicle fleet of Palilula is in service delivery for citizens of necessary nutritional support. Contact center and works well across the Contact Centre we were able to rescue the homeless one. I thank the staff at the Directorate of Palilula who were directly involved in the rescue of Milorad Ognjenović. Slavoljub Ciric and Natasa Pecic Konstadinović who, with the help of the Ministry of Interior Affairs in Nis and teams for emergency of Nis Fire station and the EMS ambulance and rescued one human life. I think that we with this situation once again took and passed an examination of humanity. I would ask that citizens to call the contact center and the citizens who live in still not cleaned streets and we would come up to them. They just should be patient. We do not we have many machines but we work 24 hours a day. I think that Palilula is better cleared from the rest of the city and I hope that you understand and we'll quickly get up to them also. During the upcoming holidays, all elected and appointed persons in Palilula Municipality will operate normally. We had Government recommendations not to work this week in order to save energy-said Novakovic, but we decided to help our citizens in a situation of extraordinary circumstances.
